Gary Hunter

Peacefully, with family by his side at Grey Bruce Health Services, Southampton on Sunday, May 21, 2023 in his 88th year. Gary, beloved husband of the late Barbara. Beloved father of Deborah Hunter and her partner Richard Van Hanke, Dale Hunter, and Dana and her husband Michael Corrado. Proud Grampie of Avery and Megan. Predeceased by his brother Marvin Hunter and his sister Cheryl Robbins. 

Gary was a valued employee of Bell Canada for 35 yrs and also during that time he played in different bands and was a highly regarded musician and Gentleman Songster.  He fell in love with Sauble Beach after his first visit in 1963 and we all never looked back, it has been his summer home since and after retirement, Mom & Dad enjoyed many winters in Fort Myers, making many special friends in both places.  He was a kind, gentle and smart man who worked hard, laughed a lot and loved his music and most of all, his family, he would try and help anyone who needed it and always taught us to put others first. 

A celebration of Gary’s life will be announced at a later date.
