Peacefully, with family by her side at Brightshores Health System, Owen Sound on Wednesday, May 6, 2026 in her 96th year.  Chris, loving wife of the late Jack Hardtman and the late Ronald Reist.  Beloved mother of Chris McLaren (Jim), Marianne Howe (Gary), Debbie Harding and the late Jeff Hardtman.  Proud Grandma of  Shelley, Amanda(Trevor), Miranda (Rob), Michael (Emily), Dan and Brenna (Steve).  Loving GG of Kylee, Emily, Abbi, Cassie and Quinton.   Chris grew up in Preston and the Kitchener/Waterloo area where she raised her 4 children until 1978 when along with her husband and 2 children moved to the west to settle in Calgary.  In early 2007, the decision was made to move back to Ontario and make Owen Sound her home.  Chris loved being by the water, boating and very much enjoyed making new friends.   She was very creative and enjoyed knitting, crocheting and many other art forms.  Her cats were her comfort.

Memorial donations to the Grey Bruce Hospice Foundation or the Grey Bruce Animal Shelter would be appreciated by the family.
