McDowell, Peter Mathew Sr.

Passing away suddenly but peacefully on Saturday September 24, 2016 at Grey Bruce Health Services, Owen Sound, in his 71st year. Lifelong resident of Walsingham, ON, loving husband of the late Dorothy Jean (nee Beedie). Beloved Dad of Peter Mathew Jr. and his wife Maria, and George Thomas and his wife Laurelle (Shampoo).  Proud Grandpa of Spencer Mathew Thomas and Connor Joseph McDowell. Beloved brother of Irene McDowell, Norman McDowell (Lynne), Bill McDowell (Linda) and Bob McDowell (Joyce). Peter is survived by his nephew and many nieces.

Peter was a dedicated employee of Cayuga Materials & Dufferin  Aggregate’s.  Lifelong member of the Long Point Lions Club which he held many positions including Past President.  Peter was also an avid member of Langton Minor Hockey and Norfolk Minor Hardball.   Peter enjoyed his daily conversations with the morning coffee group at the Port Rowan Coffee Shop.

Peter will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

In keeping with his wishes cremation has been entrusted to Huron Shores Cremation Services.

Donations to Sakura House in Woodstock would be appreciated by the family.
