On the peaceful shores of Lake Huron, surrounded by his family, at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre in Kincardine, Ontario, William (Bill) Maurice Crook, just shy of his 92nd birthday, passed away on June 1, 2022. He is lovingly remembered and survived by his spouse of 72 years, Esther “Mae” Crook of London, Ontario, and his children, Rick (Mary), Rob (Patti), Vicki (Paul), Randy (Joanne), Darlene, Russell (Teri), Katrina, and Jaymie (Michelle), 21 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his grandchildren, Aaron, and Katherine. Bill met and married his high school sweetheart in London in 1950. He began his lifelong career with Kraft Foods in 1953, which took him to several cities throughout Ontario, followed by three years in Vancouver before returning to Ontario and retiring in London, Ontario, in 1987. Upon retirement, Dad worked for the London Police Association as a bartender until his second retirement in 2006. The family wishes to send a special thank you to the Trillium Court Retirement Residence staff in Kincardine for their care over the last several years.
Dad was sure that everything in life could be resolved with an “attitude adjustment” followed by a fine scotch. A private service will take place at a later date. Dad never met a dog that did not deserve a warm greeting and a friendly pet, memorial donations, if desired, can be made to the London Humane Society.
